CARE Classroom
We will start opening up more classrooms for In-Person learning for Prek-4 and more CARE classrooms for Kinder - 3rd grades. If you were called and accepted a seat, please check in with your student's teacher regarding the start date.
CARE Classrooms will meet four days a week and with no school happening on Wednesdays. Classroom facilitators will be DCPS elementary school staff or an employee of a trusted school partner. CARE staff will receive professional development based on their role and experience. We will also have three Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at schools to support school-based health protocols, such as temperature checks, symptom screenings, and staffing of the health isolation room.
Since students will learn online in CARE Classrooms, each student will have their own technology device and headset. Socially distanced classrooms will also have surge protector power strips, and cord covers.

Global Studies at Cooke
While engaging our community throughout the summer, DCPS heard a resounding focus on prioritizing safety, maximizing learning – whether in school or at home, and providing equitable access to resources and supports.
DCPS is committed to delivering on these expectations and through continued collaboration, transparency, and flexibility, DCPS will successfully meet student needs during these unprecedented times.
We will start School Year 2020-2021 virtually with all students learning at home. This will apply for all grades — Pre-K through 12 — and last at least through Term 1 from August 31 to November 6.

Updated Health and Oral Assessments
Health physicals and oral health assessments are required annually. Medical forms must be turned in to the school as part of the enrollment process, and any updated forms throughout the school year should be submitted to the school. Students must have an up-to-date health assessment form on file with the school once in-person learning begins. This is the best time to ensure your student’s health form is updated. Schedule an appointment with your doctor if you student needs a current physical.
You may call the school to find out if your student has an updated health form (202-939-5390) or you can email your current health form to Ms. Emma (emma.amaya@k12.dc.gov).
You can find all the forms by visiting: School Health Requirements
Tech Tips for Learning at Home
